eNPS calculator
Percentage of promoters minus percentage of detractors, from −100 to +100, with the response count.
% promoters − % detractors
eNPS = percentage of promoters − percentage of detractors, using everyone who responded as the base. Passives count toward the total but not the score.
Worked example. 50 promoters, 30 passives, 20 detractors out of 100: 50% − 20% = an eNPS of +30.
There's no universal "good" score — compare your own eNPS over time and against your own past surveys.
Engagement across the whole survey, not just eNPS
The survey report breaks eNPS and scores down by team, flags the lowest-scoring questions, and groups comment themes.
eNPS questions
What counts as a promoter, passive or detractor?
On the standard 0–10 likelihood-to-recommend question: 9–10 promoters, 7–8 passives, 0–6 detractors.
Why can eNPS be negative?
It runs from −100 (everyone a detractor) to +100 (everyone a promoter). Negative means detractors outnumber promoters.
Are passives left out of the score?
Yes — passives count toward the response total but don't add to or subtract from the score, same as standard NPS.
